Sick of Cleaning? Let Us Help!

Five Minutes to Maintain a Clean Bathroom

clean bathroomHere’s a quick stat: 95% of individuals agree that one of the scariest rooms to clean in their home is the bathroom. You use it every day, which causes an accumulation of dirt and mess. Let’s face it, bathrooms can be gross. However, you took the plunge and hired a maid service. Everything looks shiny and clean. But how do you make it last until your next cleaning service? All it takes is five minutes a day to maintain your fresh bathroom.

Minute One

Take one minute to clear away the surface. Use the 60 seconds to put away hair dryers or straighteners, put toothbrushes back in their cradles, and grab dirty towels off the sink. Look around to see if there are any clothes strewn around the floor.

Minute Two

In the next minute, clean the surfaces of your bathroom. Have disinfectants, toilet cleaners, and dryer sheets readily available under the counter. Drop the toilet bowl cleaner in first, so it can do its magic while you clean the other things. The dryer sheet is a useful way to catch loose strands of hair and dust. Quickly wipe down the surface of your counters, specifically noting toothpaste stains and spit marks. Go back to wipe down the toilet too.

Minute Three

Are you feeling the pressure? Don’t worry, you’re almost done! For the third minute, focus on the mirrors. You’ll be surprised to see how easily toothpaste spittle appears in your reflection. Spray it with your favorite cleaning product and wipe away the dirt. If your mirrors are already clean, show some love to your faucets and handles.

Minutes Four

You’re in the home stretch now! Take this minute to straighten up your bathroom. Place fresh towels in the holder, check to see if there’s enough toilet paper, and put back any shower curtain hooks that may have popped out. You can also take a moment to arrange your toiletries and personal care products on the counter.

Minute Five

In this final minute, take a breath, and examine the bathroom. Do you see anything that could be re-arranged? Did you miss a spot in your dash to clean everything in five minutes? This is your moment to do your final clean, before you’re free to carry on with your life.

While it might seem like a lot, doing a five minute clean continually can help keep your bathroom sparkling. You don’t even have to do all five minutes in a row. If you have a minute here and there, take a moment to tackle one of the steps. This way, you can prolong the nice clean before your maids come back.
